8K3/8K4 Series Safety Light Curtains
The 8K3/8K4 Series comprises of the Transmitter (Tx) and the Receiver (Rx) units with optional bolt on mute modules. An interface cable connects the Transmitter to the Receiver unit and the User cable provides the interface to the machine control panel. The system provides a fully integrated solution including cross-beam and parallel beam muting options all housed in a robust IP66 enclosure for harsh wet environments. In addition the 8K3/8K4 provides multiple beam options allowing the light curtain to be mounted closer to the danger point. Two, three and four beam models for safeguarding around the perimeter of a machine are included in the model range. These models have a scanning range of 4 - 10m. A selection of accessories including inductive loop control boxes, reset stations and mounting stands are also available.

The 8K3 and 8K4 series are the latest product series in 25 years
of supplying pallet entry/exit solutions. Our solutions are used
in a variety of end of line packaging applications and across a
range of industrial sectors. The Smartscan 8K3 and 8K3 Plus
models offer the complete solution for safeguarding end-of-line
packaging machines.
The system provides a ‘plug & play’ self-muting guarding system
in full compliance with IEC 62046. The system offers both
cross-beam and parallel beam muting options for pallet
entry/exit and exit only positions. The Parallel beam can also
be used for positions between danger zones where operators could
potentially try and access the danger zones from either
direction as per the requirements of IEC 62046.
The systems provide PL d and PL e safety ratings with whole body
and hand detection options accommodating a range of different
application requirements.
The system uses the same cables as the older 8000 series making
changeover/ upgrade very simple.
