Light Curtain Blocking Device (LCB)
The Trapped Key Interlock Blocking Devices is engineered for both new installations and retrofits to provide a robust blocking function when used with compatible light curtain systems.
Light curtains improve accessibility to machinery or production lines by reducing
or
supplementing mechanical guarding. The LCB device adds an essential layer of safety by
ensuring
a secure lock-off, preventing the reactivation of the light curtain barrier when
correctly
installed. These devices can also be seamlessly integrated into a broader Skorpion
trapped
key
system, if required.
In addition, the LCB offers dual lock-off capability, enabling the use of an 8mm padlock
hasp in
either the light curtain’s operational or blocked positions, enhancing safety and
flexibility.
Each device releases a coded personnel key, protecting operators who work inside the
safeguarded
space from being trapped and preventing the restart of the machine. This method provides
a
proactive inhibit function for risk reduction whilst performing whole body access.
